DALIAN. The shine skin crop in China is significantly larger than last year, and with the carry-over stocks from the current season, supplies should be more than secured. The GWS crop is less abundant, but has also developed well.

The pumpkin seed harvest is in full swing in the Chinese growing regions, and more and more new-crop produce will reach the markets in the coming weeks. The harvesting process should be completed by the end of October. According to current estimates, yields are likely to be the same as last year. As local seed companies had already reported in advance, farmers have increasingly opted for shine skins this season, while GWS kernels were less in demand.
