DALIAN. The Chinese pumpkin seed traders returned to the market this week after their holidays with a few new prices up their sleeve.

The rebel among pumpkin seed prices
For the most part, the prices for pumpkin seeds remain stable; however, the offers for Shine Skin, Grade AA pumpkin seeds rose noticeably. It is still quiet on the market, yet traders expect that the prices have moved past their low point for this season and will remain stable in the near future. The conditions for a comprehensible price increase have not yet been met, as the demand is still too low and there are still too many commodities on the market.

Several factors are decisive for the further development of the market. On the one hand, the size of the cultivated area, and on the other, the dwindling reserves during the course of the season. However, it is also not unusual for the traders to want to sell off as much of their stock as possible before the hot summer months to make room for the new crop and especially to spare themselves the higher costs for air-conditioned storage.
