Paddy will purchased on basis of wheat, Uttar Pradesh Govt on Paddy Purchase
On the pattern of wheat procurement in the country, paddy will be purchased in Kharif season. For this, 3 thousand purchasing centers will be opened. Farmers will be paid within 72 hours. This decision was approved on Tuesday in the cabinet of Uttar Pradesh government. Apart from this, the interview ended in recruitment of group B non-gazette and group C and D. For the purchase of paddy, 3500 purchase centers will be opened in the state. Paddy growers of Uttar Pradesh can get fair prices of their produce so that the state government will procure 5 million tonnes of paddy for the Kharif 2017-18 from October 1st. In which the minimum support price for general paddy would be US$242 per tones and the grade of paddy would be US250 per tones. On purchase of minimum support price, farmers will be given a bonus of US$2.5 per tones instead of US$1.5 per mt. paddy. From 25th September, in Western UP, while paddy procurement will be done in Eastern UP from November 1st .
The Uttar Pradesh government's cabinet has made a big decision about the state's paddy growers. The government will buy paddy from farmers like wheat itself. The government has set a target of procuring 50 lakh metric tonnes of paddy. There will be complete monitoring of purchase of paddy on procurement centers. After purchase, SMS will be sent to SMS on mobile by mobile phone. Payments will also be done in 72 hours. For the unloading of paddy, now the farmers will be given additional amount for transportation. This payment will be in addition to the minimum support price for purchase. Apart from this, the government has arranged for incentives for mill owners too. If rice is given to FCI within one month of purchase, then incentive will be given to the mill owners.
To maintain transparency in procurement of paddy and to get the farmers out of the middlemen, the district purchasing officer will be appointed at the district level. For the farmers to get good profits for paddy production of the state, the government has started preparations for the purchase of paddy in the kharif season. UP Chief Secretary Rajiv Kumar has issued this order to all the district officials. The places near Mandi, Sub Mandi, Agricultural Marketing Hub and main road will be preferred for the purchase of Paddy Purchase Center. Instructions have now been issued to prepare the farmers for procurement of paddy in the form of any kind of problem. This will make prices stronger for end rice production.
This will leads to price stability of Rice in Local market as well as international Market for Indian rice.
