Sesame Seeds Market Report:

Nigeria Market Information:

Exchange rate is stable.

Local market prices have gone down due to less demand from overseas countries and not all exporters are active in the market because of off season.

Market is down due to not much demand from china and other countries.

Overall market is down and unless and until there is not much demand or Exchange support prices will not go up.

TOGO/MALI/Burkina Market Information: 

Exchange rate is stable.

Market is down due to no demand.

Not much business & movement at TOGO/Mali.

Due to off season not all exporters and traders are active in the local market. Local less stock as well as market is going down.

Ethiopia Market Information: 

On ECX (Ethiopian commodity Exchange) prices are down.

No demand from china and high stock level at China ports, leads to prices down at Origin i.e. in Ethiopia.

Ethiopian exporters are giving lower prices for the non-China demand. Prices are down. Not much movement in the prices due to lack of demand.

Sales has gone down for the Humera Sesame Seeds as other countries sesame is been offered better rates than Ethiopia.

Korean Tender also will not give much impact on the market as Ethiopia has huge stock (unreported cargo). People wish to participate in tenders so that they can clear their stock. Good quantity at a time and minimize the losses by holding stock on their hand at Ethiopia.

Sudan Market information:

Exchange is stable.

Local market prices has gone down due to not much demand from the other countries and also due to local festival going on, there is not much demand from India as well as from other countries.

Somalia Market information:

Due to Ramadan days are lazy and not much movement in the market, it is inactive at the present.

Bangladesh Market information:

Local market is stable for all varieties of sesame seeds due to non-demand as well as local festival not much movement or trades happening.

Indian Sesame Seeds:

Last week Korean tenders announcement news has spread all over sesame industry in India as well as world wide, which have not made any impact on the local market prices. Contrary market has gone down in the local market due to huge arrival of Summer crop all market of Gujarat.

Exchange rate is also stable vs. Dollar.

 Due to huge arrival at market tenders demand will be compensated and expected that market will go down.

At the same time there is not much demand from local consumption as well as foreign demand except Korean Tender Demand.

Today overall Indian Sesame Market is down. Old crop is available at lower prices than summer Crop 2017.

Tanzania/Mozambique:

China is the major buyer for the Tanzania and Mozambique Sesame Seeds.

Market has gone down due to china prices has gone down, Prices pushed to go down at origin due to no demand.

Report on China Demand (A Biggest Buyer of the World for Sesame) : 

  1. Yet there is more than 150,000 mt. cargo at the port (Main port of China).
  2. Local buyer’s sentiment is low and they feel that yet prices will go down further.
  3. Still Sellers presser of selling cargo which they have imported at higher level.
  4. Market sentiments are weak and weaker.

According to personal views Prices will be stable and it can go down furthers. It will be down by another US$20 to US$30 dollar from this level and then market will be stable.
