Sesame seeds: South Korea significantly reduces tender

NEW DELHI. High bid prices again ensured that South Korea's tender could not be completed as planned. This also affects market prices.

Tender shrinks by 80%

After the end of the current sesame seed tender, great disappointment spread among Indian exporters. South Korea had issued a tender for the purchase of 7,500 mt of sesame seeds and Indian market players were confident of winning about 70% of the tender. As in the previous sesame seed tender, bid prices were well above what buyers were willing to pay.
