The situation on the cumin market is currently pretty bleak. In the last five weeks, Indian cumin has already lost more than 20% in value, with prices falling by a whopping USD 500/mt compared to last week alone. Indian exporters are under pressure as they urgently need to re-export the product imported from China, otherwise they face a 36% duty payment. This is forcing them to sell the goods as quickly as possible, even if they suffer losses as a result.
