GUJARAT. Weekly monitoring with the latest market information from India on cumin, coriander and turmeric, chilli, black pepper and cardamom as well as a price list for more than 70 products.

Cumin

While cumin prices have picked up compared to last week, Indian exports are looking less rosy. Only 27,633 mt were shipped overseas in April and May 2022, compared to 54,517 mt in the same period last year. Shipments to China have picked up again in recent days, which makes exporters optimistic. Domestic buying interest, however, leaves much to be desired, but traders expect this to improve by September at the latest. Market experts therefore expect prices to rise further in the near future. Cumin, grade A costs USD 2,940/mt FOB India this week.
