MANNHEIM. In a recently issued press release the Südzucker Group has confirmed that supplies are guaranteed, despite demand being high. While the corona pandemic has brought public life to a standstill in many countries, Europe's leading sugar gaint has switched to crisis mode.

Südzucker is careful to assure customers that production and administration are up and running and that the health of the staff is of priority. Dr Niels Pörksen, chairman of Südzucker's executive board, states that the group is receiving political support:

"As a producer of food and animal feed, we are part of the 'critical infrastructure' that receives special support from politics and administration to ensure that people in many countries continue to be supplied with food. Currently, the supply of our customers is guaranteed despite high demand. The emloyees of the Südzucker Group are doing everything in their power to maintain our ability to operate and act - we are all aware of our social responsibility in this difficult phase. We thank our emloyees, our suppliers, farmers, industry and retail cusomers and consumers for their commitment and pragmatic cooperation in this time of crisis."
