MANISA. In Turkey, grape and sultana growers are busy tending their vineyards. Growers are holding back their sultanas and speculating on rising commodity prices.

Mild temperatures in Manisa

The Turkish province of Manisa is facing a rainy week with mild daytime temperatures of 14-17°C. In the Sarıgöl region, growers are busy tending their vineyards – vines are being pruned and the soil fertilised in order to achieve the highest possible yields. Around 11,300 hectares of grapes are cultivated in Sarıgöl and the surrounding areas. Maintenance work in the vineyards will continue until the end of March.
