Sunflower seeds: global production reaches almost 55.5 million mt

SOFIA/KYIV. The US Department of Agriculture expects global sunflower seed production in 2024/2025 to be only 1% higher than in the previous season.

EU crop to increase by 9%

In recent days, the US Department of Agriculture has published its current estimates for the global sunflower seed crop in 2024/2025. At 55.428 million mt, production would be a good 1% higher than in the previous year. The forecasts for Russia (-0.6% to 17 million mt) and Ukraine (+1.4% to 14.7 million mt) are expected to remain almost stable.
