BUCHAREST/SOFIA. Sunflower seeds are about to be sown in European countries. Good weather conditions and high prices might be an incentive for larger acreages.

Good cultivation prospects

Sowing for sunflower seed production in the EU is drawing ever closer. In Romania, spring-like temperatures of more than 25°C mean that farmers could start sowing as early as next week, according to the experts from UkrAgroConsult in their latest report. The precipitation associated with the rise in temperature would also benefit the crop. Experts are therefore confident that this year's acreage could be larger than previously expected.
