Sunflower seeds: Prices for the new crop stabilise

SOFIA. Warm temperatures and scattered showers provide ideal conditions for Bulgarian farmers to complete sowing over the next few weeks. Already sown areas will also benefit from the good weather.

 

New crop offers for 0.62 EUR/kg
The shipments from Bulgaria remain satisfactory. Nonetheless, the farmgate prices for black sunflower seeds, in shell, 96% purity, are maintaining last week's level. Farmers and traders are instead trying to increase prices for later deliveries during the summer months.

The prices for hulled bakery kernels remain unchanged at 0.62-0.64 EUR/kg DDP Germany. Although the processors are still maintaining this level, the prospect of increased farmgate prices render it highly likely that prompt deliveries could also bec
