SOFIA. After several interruptions caused by the rain, the current weather forecast is allowing farmers to hope that they will be able to resume their work on the fields in the upcoming weeks without further delays.

First shipments at the port
Sunshine and warm temperatures are expected in the Bulgarian growing regions until the end of September. The drought from which farmers profited for the sunflower crop could also represent a challenge for the seeding of winter wheat, rapeseed and barley.

One single container of sunflower seeds is waiting to be loaded at the port of Burgas, otherwise oilseeds are nowhere to be seen at the big loading points. The prices for black sunflower seeds, in-shell, 96% purity are relatively stable and vary within a range of 264-267 EUR/mt CPT V
