Wheat import duties will be increased

Government wheat procurement up by 16%.

Wheat procurement in March’18 was 33 million tonnes, while 13.2 million tons were earlier stocked till starting of April ’18.

Earlier, the prices for wheat in India were 16% higher than the prices of imported wheat from Ukraine with added 20 % of import duty. So the southern consumers had increased the import, which was less than the government purchase price of North India.
