KHERSON. In bakery and confectionery production, sunflower seeds are becoming increasingly attractive because they have been proven to contain health-promoting ingredients. One of the most important qualities is the degree of purity, which is directly related to product safety. Producers are always looking for ways to further increase the purity levels.

Plenty of experience
Positive results are achieved by the team of the „Agroimpex Group“ company, which has more than 30 years of experience in the sector of production, processing and trading of edibles as well as the processing of agricultural products. The company‘s head office is located in Plovdiv in Bulgaria with additional production facilities in Stryama, Plovdiv region in Bulgaria and in Kherson in the Ukraine. As the Ukraine is the world leader in the production and processing of sunflower seeds, the main production takes place in the company „Agroinvest Kherson Ltd“ in Kherson. The companies „Kherson Impex“ in the Ukraine, „Trakia Grain“ in Bulgaria and „BIS Handels GmbH“ in Germany are responsible for trading activities. All of them belong to the „Agroimpex Group“.

„Agroinvest Kherson“ is 100% financed with investments from abroad and has regularly modernized its equipment since its foundation. With this development policy, the company quickly took a leading position in production and as a supplier of calibrated sunflower seeds. Since the last modernization, the team has developed an exceptional method for further improving product purity with the help of the appropriate equipment. This involves calibrating the sunflower seeds into different sizes after the initial cleaning. The first stage produces the largest seeds of the type “confectionary”. A 5-channel colour LED photo sorting system is used for cleaning.

No more intermixture
The problem is that the smaller kernels of the bakery type can be confused with soybeans, corn, peas or other products due to their black colour. In order to avoid this, an additional step is now taken during the cleaning process via a further photo-sorting unit that separates the black kernels. This prevents them from mixing with other products and increases their purity. The 4-channel LED photo sorting system, which has been in use since December 2019, cleans the bakery kernels so thoroughly that the purity of the end product exceeds 99.99%.The manufacturing plant is certified according to the highest European standards and enables the shipment of this product to Europe and Australia as well as to North and South America.
