Almonds: crop receipts way below expectations

SACRAMENTO/MADRID. In the Position Report for August the Almond Board of California highlights that crop receipts range a shocking 73% lower than last year.

US beginning stocks higher than anticipated

Crop receipts only reached 70 million pounds in August 2023 as opposed to the 264 million pounds received in August 2022. Although analysts concede that this is far from normal, they also state that any estimates on the final crop size are highly speculative at present as more data needs to become available.
