Almonds: Experts reckon with harvest delays

MADRID/SACRAMENTO. Due to the snow reserves the prospects in California are highly promising. Experts, however, reckon that it is possible that delays will occur again this season.

US crop estimated at 1.03 million mt

Flowering started at a normal time this year, but cooler local temperatures have caused minor delays in development. The experts at Blue Diamond Almonds therefore do not rule out harvest delays this year. Continuing good export figures and a new record in January render it increasingly obvious that comparatively few almonds will be available between the end of the season and the arrival of the new crop.
