MADRID/REUS. According to current estimates, global almond production for 2025/2026 is at a similar level to the previous year. Spain’s exports have fallen significantly. The majority of shipments are within the EU.

Larger crop in Turkey and Italy

As stated in the latest report from the International Nut and Dried Fruit Council, the global almond crop for 2025/2026 is expected to be at a similar level to the previous year. Total production is estimated at 1.628 million mt of shelled almonds, which would be just 0.4% higher than in the 2024/2025 season.

The US as the main producing country recorded a minimal increase of 0.7% to 1.201 million mt last year. In Spain, production remains at the previous year’s level of 105,000 mt, whilst the Australian almond crop actually declined by almost 5% to 155,697 mt. In contrast, smaller producing countries such as Turkey (+16.7% to 35,000 mt), Italy (+11.4% to 23,400 mt) and China (+19% to 20,000 mt) saw a noticeable increase in their output.
