MADRID. The three most important cultivation regions in Spain – Andalusia, Aragon and Valencia – produce more than half of the total Spanish almond production. In addition, Ibizan farmers managed to more than quadruple their production over 2016.

Successful crop year

The 2017 Spanish almond crop is reported to amount to 230,600 mt (in shell). Of this amount, Andalusia produced 58,743 mt, Aragon 51,830 mt and Valencia 38,615 mt. If these figures are compared to the FAO production data for the last few year, Spain succeeded in producing the largest amount in eight years.
