Almonds: Low supplies in 2018/19

SACRAMENTO. At the beginning of July, the National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS) will publish the objective crop estimates for 2018. Market players currently expect significantly lower supplies than in recent years.

 

Declining exports
At this late point in the season, sales figures for US almonds are falling rapidly. While domestic deliveries increased by 13% in May as compared to last year, overseas exports fell by 17.9% to 41,734 mt. For the entire season to date, however, US traders have recorded an export increase of 10%.
