CHRUDIM/ANKARA. The Czech blue poppy seed market could run out of goods sooner than expected. Market players are particularly concerned about sowing. Meanwhile, Germany has more than doubled its poppy seed imports from Turkey.

Supplies are running low

Market players even estimate production at just 14,000-15,000 mt. This led to a temporary supply shortage and rising prices. Prices for Czech blue poppy seeds, <20 ppm morphine are currently at a level of EU
