CHRUDIM/ANKARA. As a result of the surprising increase in demand in the Czech poppy seed market, farmers could increase prices. Meanwhile, new forecasts for the 2022 crop are being made almost weekly.

A lack of precipitation is worrying Czech farmers, and poppy seed cultivation is also affected. Although there were rain showers in some places, it is still far too dry overall.
