CHRUDIM. Poppy seed imports to Germany have declined notably over the last few months.

Supply and demand are well balanced

The farmers in the Czech Republic reaped large profits last year. This means that they have sufficient funds for sowing and that there currently is absolutely no need for them to sell. At the same time, the buyers prefer to wait and the prices have remained stable over the last few weeks. Blue poppy seeds with a morpine content of <10 ppm morphine are trading at EUR 2.80 per kg DDP Germany.
