Blue poppy seeds: Market players expect an increase in cultivation

CHRUDIM. While the exchange rate is returning to normal, the forthcoming sowing in the Czech poppy market is coming to the fore. The farmers should be able to cultivate their fields in a few weeks.

Stable export prices 

As far as the exchange rate is concerned, the balance between the Euro and the Czech koruna is slowly returning to normal, although export prices for blue poppy seeds are still holding the level of last week. Czech blue poppy seeds, <10 ppm morphine are currently trading at EUR 2.86 per kg FCA. All attention is focused on the upcoming sowing.
