CHRUDIM. There is still no end to the price increases on the Czech blue poppy seed market - low stocks and a smaller crop will cause prices to rise until the end of the month. So far, this has not dampened demand.

Moderate price increases

Although prices for Czech blue poppy seeds are already at a high level, an end to the rises is not yet in sight. In the past two weeks there have been further price increases, but they are more moderate than before. There could be some stability for the time being, but Czech traders expect that the price peak will not be reached until the end of October or the beginning of November. Currently, Czech blue poppy seeds, <20 ppm morphine, delivered in big bags costs EUR 2.60/kg FCA Czech Republic.
