CHRUDIM. While the months between the arrival of new crop and the turn of the year are usually the most active in the Czech blue poppy seed market, it has been unusually quiet in recent weeks. Meanwhile, Germany's imports increased at the end of the season.

According to market players, the Czech blue poppy seed market is unusually quiet for this time of year. The demand of the past weeks left much to be desired. Many traders and processors are said to still have stocks from the old crop, which is why they are not under pressure to replenish their stocks as quickly as possible. In addition, the current situation and the energy crisis are causing uncertainty about the coming winter.
