Crop damage concerns in India

Excessive rainfall after the Kharif sowing period has created concerns about possible damages to the sesame crop, which could affect both yield and quality. Traders report that they currently have adequate stocks to meet ongoing demand. Yet, the next harvest is still around two months away. This delay in fresh arrivals means that the market is unlikely to see any significant price reductions in the near term.
