Butter: Aldi purchasing price sets agenda

FRANKFURT/LODZ. Aldi and the dairies in Germany have negotiated a new purchasing price for non-blended butter this week. Market players agree that it will set the agenda for the butter prices in August.

 

Aldi price slumps

Aldi’s new purchasing price for non-blended butter (250 g)has dropped by as much as 0.44 EUR/kg to 5.26 EUR/kg and will remain binding for one month. The German butter prices will therefore certainly drop in August. A nominal decrease has already been witnessed in Poland this week, where prices have dropped to 5.28 EUR/mt EXW Poland. The average price for 10 kg blocks ranges at 5.31 EUR/kg FCA Poland.
