KEMPTEN/BRUSSELS. Butter manufacturers are finding it difficult to keep up with demand in Germany. Word quotations have witnessed a downturn. EU exports have already exceeded the EUR 1 million threshold this year.

Struggle to keep up with demand in Germany

As the South German Butter and Cheese Exchange in Kempten reports milk deliveries are still witnessing a seasonal low. They are, however, higher than last year and international excess supplies, especially in the USA, are weighing on spot market prices. This has very much impacted cream.
