Butter: A small price turnaround

FRANKFURT/BRUSSELS. After the EU market witnessed a continuous decline in recent weeks there now seems to be a break. A similar development has been observed in Germany.

Prices said to have levelled off
According to the EU Commission, the average butter price has fallen for the first time in six weeks. It currently stands at 3.97 EUR/kg and is thus 0.9% lower than in the last 4 weeks. In Poland, however, the prices for bulk butter have continued to fall and are currently range at 3.70 EUR/mt. In Germany, the price level for bulk butter remains stable at 3.75 EUR/mt.
