KEMPTEN/BRUSSELS. Summer vibes are still prevailing in Germany. EU butter production has climbed. EU exports have not quite reached EUR 1 million yet.

Summer lull in Germany

As the South German Butter and Cheese Exchange in Kempten reports the summer holidays have driven up demand for table butter. Retailers should start issuing more orders in September. Table butter quotations are firm at EUR 7.00-7.60/kg (USD 8.14-8.84/kg). With industrial cream quoted higher buyers are closely monitoring the price development for bulk butter, for which quotations presently range at EUR 6.95-7.15/kg (USD 8.09-8.32/kg) in Kempten.
