NEW DELHI. Despite the increase in production, suppliers in India are unable to keep up with the competition from Vietnam.

Prices rise again

India is increasingly lagging behind, while the major exporter Vietnam is steadily increasing its market share. In contrast to Vietnam, raw cashew nuts are still largely traditionally processed in India. This results in comparatively high wage costs. The crop in India is not sufficient to meet upcountry demand, which is particularly high during the festival season. The prices in India have again risen this week, but are still cheaper than at the beginning of October.
