NEW DELHI/OTTAWA. Trading has gained traction in Canada as producers are already buying seeds for 2024/2025. Although trading is largely subdued in India, the market should not be udnerestimated.

Fixed export prices

Sluggish demand and price drops have predominated in India for weeks. While domestic prices have once again declined this week, the export prices have remained firm supported by low international supplies and anticipated production declines in several countries. The new crop will only arrive in India in more than seven months and it remains to be seen in how far the current geopolitical tensions will impact the market.
