Chickpeas: arrivals continue to decline

NEW DELHI/OTTAWA. Although prices on the Indian chickpea market continue to increase, demand remains strong. In Canada, buyers are awaiting the outcome of the upcoming harvest, but the prospects for a large crop volume remain good.

Prices rise again

The market for Indian chickpeas remains largely stable with a slight upward trend, supported by limited supply, steady demand from exporters and the absence of new crops for at least the next eight months. Although some traders remain cautious, all indications are that prices will remain strong and that there will be no declines in the near future.
