NEW DELHI/OTTAWA. The chickpea markets in India and Canada are currently quiet but largely stable. In Canada, the new harvest is underway and there are some concerns about possible quality issues.

Market players remain optimistic

Prices on the Indian chickpea market have fallen again compared to last week. Demand from domestic buyers, especially exporters, leaves much to be desired, and consumers are also showing little willingness to buy. The situation is similar for overseas buyers. Nevertheless, market players are not particularly concerned about further price reductions, as there are a number of factors that should prevent this.
