NEW DELHI/OTTAWA. Due to the shortage on the global market, chickpea prices continue to rise in the important growing countries. There is no relief in sight for the time being, but some buyers still prefer to wait and see.

Shortage of goods felt worldwide

Within a few days, chickpea prices on the Indian market have climbed by USD 100/mt. Traders say that demand has jumped, especially in the international market, and that there is not enough supply in the domestic market as the shortage continues. According to current information, the new crop will not be harvested until February and March, so the situation is not expected to ease in the near future.
