NEW DELHI/OTTAWA. Supply difficulties have stabilised prices on the Indian chickpea market. Buyers are watching the market closely but are holding back on purchases for the time being. Stocks are likely to increase in Canada.

Prices for Indian chickpeas rose slightly compared to last week, but according to market players, this was not due to improved demand but to temporary supply bottlenecks. However, as no new crop is expected in the near future and Brazil is facing similar supply problems, international buyers are starting to source more chickpeas from India.
