SOFIA. Yields are much higher this year. Some farmers experienced the effects from the European corn worm.

BULGARIA. Favorable weather conditions throughout the year made possible for fields within the North regions to realize much higher yield potential than it happened last year. Some farmers within the Northwest are recording an average yield of 10 mt/ha. According to them, depending on the hybrid of the crop and under optimal precipitation conditions, a corn yield could reach as high as 18 mt/ha. Some farmers are already using irrigation systems to realize the fullest potential of their corn fields.
