Dates: considerable export increases

TEHRAN. Iranian customs statistics show that date exports increased significantly in 2021 compared to the previous year. Prices are also rising in the wake of Ramadan preparations.

Exports 18% higher

According to the Iranian Customs Office, exports of dates produced in Iran in 2021 amounted to 348,674 mt worth nearly USD 306 million. The average export price was USD 0.88/kg. By comparison, in the corresponding period in 2020, Iran exported 295,362 mt of dates worth nearly USD 259 million. Thus, exports increased by more than 18% in both volume and export value last year.
