Dried apricots: no fruits in Malatya

MALATYA. In Malatya, Turkey's hotspot for dried apricots, an estimated 11 million trees are bearing no fruits for this year's production. In addition, the industry has failed to meet the export target in 2024/2025. Somewhat surprisingly exports are still up and running in the new season.

Malatya, which supplies a large portion of the world's dried apricots, was one of the provinces most affected by the April frost. While the province produces an average of 90,000-100,000 mt of dried apricots each year, not a single apricot was turned out this year.
