BRUSSELS/TEHRAN. EU imports highlight the fact that demand is on the rise for dates. Prices have surged in Iran.

Upsurge in EU demand

With reports highlighting that dates are gaining traction in the EU as a healthy snack, sugar alternative and enrichment to the local cuisine suppliers are keen to gain market shares. Recent EU import statistics as of September when the main harvest season was underway in most producing countries show that demand is indeed on the rise.
