MANILA/JAKARTA. Limited arrivals are becoming more of a problem for the processors in Indonesia. In addition, the dry weather in Asia could lead to an overall decline in production.

 

Buyers seek advantage

The decline in arrivals in Indonesia continues to drive up the prices for desiccated coconut and coconut oil. Growers work less as the low price level is no longer profitable. The exporters are consequently reluctant to enter into long-term contracts, their maximum is six to eight weeks.
