MANILA. The production and supply shortages continue to pose major challenges to the coconut market. This also has an impact on prices.

Ports are overloaded

The coconut market continues to face some serious challenges in Q2 of 2021. Many ports in Europe continue to be congested, with the UK in particular facing major difficulties since Brexit; some vessels are anchored for weeks waiting to be allocated a berth to unload. The experts at T. M. Duché report delivery times of between 41 days (Manila - Hamburg) and 73 days (Manila - Felixstowe).
