MANILA. As disaster has struck in the Philippines the impact on the coconut market is slowly starting to emerge. Delays and astronomical prices are being observed.

Factories and equipment have been badly damaged

The Philippines have been struck with two typhoons, triggered by a series of large earthquakes that began in December and irregularly occurred through to the end of January.  Although the country is still in shock, the impact on the market is slowly starting to emerge.
