Desiccated coconuts: Exports from the Philippines

MANILA/JAKARTA. According to the United Coconut Association of the Philippines (UCAP), the exports of desiccated coconuts have risen by as much as 32% in March.

Export figures for Q1

Philippine exporters are said to have shipped around 6,940 mt of desiccated coconuts in March. According to the latest UCAP report, this would be an increase of 32% over the same period last year. In total, the exports in the first quarter are estimated at 23,707 mt. Contrary to this, as little as 19,806 mt were exported between January and March 2018.

The export volume of coconut oil has also risen by 5% to 86,950 mt over March last year, according to the UCAP. At 45,850 mt, more than half of the exports were destined for Europe, follo
