JAKARTA. The raw nut deliveries from the main growing regions of Indonesia to the processors are irregular, which also affects the prices.

Irregular deliveries
Experts had already feared that this would happen: Due to low prices, some farmers have stopped harvesting coconuts. The regions most affected are Sumatra and Sulawesi. For the farmers, prices have become so unattractive that they prefer not to harvest the nuts instead of selling them at the current price level.

As a result, prices for desiccated coconuts from Indonesia have risen this week. The books of some processors are already full for next month. At the moment, however, there is hardly any reliability on the raw nut deliveries.
