Desiccated coconuts: Ramadan reduces raw material deliveries

JAKARTA/MANILA. During Ramadan, labour output in Indonesia's agricultural market is declining, which is also reflected in lower deliveries of raw materials for desiccated coconuts production.

Stable to fixed export prices at origin
Despite rising raw material prices, export prices for Indonesian desiccated coconuts are still relatively stable with a slight upward tendency. In the coming days the situation will calm down even more, the factories are not supposed to start working again until 10 June after the celebration of breaking the fast. Market participants report that many suppliers for June and July are already booked up to a large extent, larger quantities are available again for shipments from August 2019.
