Dried apricots: announcement of TMO purchases causes prices to rise

MALATYA. The new dried apricot season 2020/2021 in Turkey officially started on 1 August. While the farmers are still busy with production, the farmgate supplies are increasing.

Prices for new crop at two-year high

Turkish dried apricots are more expensive than they have been for a long time, and comparable prices were last called for in June/July 2018. The President's announcement last week, stating that the TMO would buy sultanas and dried apricots in addition to hazelnuts led farmers to believe they could charge higher prices for their dried fruit this season.
