Dried apricots: new export season launched

MALATYA. For dried apricots the export season in Turkey has started just in time on 1 August. The quality of this year's crop is very good and exporters have started to buy.

Price reversal

Temperatures are still excellent for the harvest and currently range at 17-21C (63-70F) at night and as high as 35-38C (95-100F) throughout the day. Exporters have started purchasing raw dried apricots which has resulted in slight price increases. Although it is not expected that these increases will be huge, a floor has certainly materialised since they are purchasing as much as their storage facilities and financial situation will allow. Yet, it should be noted that buyers have not started making any contracts yet, although there is a huge interest
