Dried apricots: new export season launched

MALATYA. For dried apricots the export season in Turkey has started just in time on 1 August. The quality of this year's crop is very good and exporters have started to buy.

Price reversal

Temperatures are still excellent for the harvest and currently range at 17-21C (63-70F) at night and as high as 35-38C (95-100F) throughout the day. Exporters have started purchasing raw dried apricots which has resulted in slight price increases. Although it is not expected that these increases will be huge, a floor has certainly materialised since they are purchasing as much as their storage facilities and financial situation will allow.
