Dried apricots: Export speed declines

MALATYA. Rising demand and a strengthening Turkish Lira may cause the export prices for dried apricots from Turkey to rise rapidly.

 

High demand from the Far East

The prices for large dried apricots are stable with a nominal upward tendency. However, the prices for medium and small sizes have risen by up to USD 100/mt. Supplies are running low and the stronger lira is causing firmer farmgate prices. Traders, nevertheless, reckon that prices will not rise much until the end of the year.
